| Obverse description | The central field displays a serrated or toothed wreath encircling three lines of text in mixed typefaces: the initial 'D' rendered in elegant cursive script at the top, the word 'CHURCH' in bold Roman capitals at center, and the word 'Penny' in flowing cursive script below.
