| 表面の説明 | The coat of arms of City Bank occupies the central field, produced by an incorrectly mated die pairing: the City Bank arms die dated 1837 was erroneously combined with the Bank of Montreal reverse die, creating a notable mule. The legend CITY BANK arcs above the arms, while BANK TOKEN and ONE PENNY appear within the surrounding circular legend, accompanied by the motto CONCORDIA SALUS. The date 1837 appears within the design. These tokens were struck by Boulton & Watt of Birmingham; a later restrke by Taylor is also known, making the original error pieces considerably scarcer. |
