| 裏面の説明 | A double-lined voided cross occupies the centre of the reverse, with a pellet at the intersection of the arms. The cross divides the field into four quarters. The central device is surrounded by an entangled or degenerate Latin legend in the field, typical of the debased inscription style found on Norwegian pennies of the Olav Kyrre issue. |

Olav Kyrre — "the Peaceful" — reigned for nearly three decades without fighting a single foreign war, an extraordinary distinction for an 11th-century Norse king. His coinage, issued sometime across that long reign, reflects Norway's gradual absorption of Anglo-Saxon minting practices following the Norman Conquest, which disrupted the English die-cutters and moneyers whose influence had shaped Scandinavian coin production for a generation.
Skaare 18 is among the rarer attributed types of his reign. Precise dating within the 1067–1093 window remains unresolved.
