Reverse description A large double cross occupies the central field, superimposed over a saltire (St. Andrew's cross), forming a composite cross motif characteristic of Anglo-Saxon influenced Scandinavian pennies of the early 11th century. The central design is encircled by a partially legible or blundered circumscription, reflecting the crude die-cutting practices of the period. A beaded inner ring frames the design, consistent with the obverse treatment.
