Obverse description Single-sided bracteate striking displaying a crowned Gothic letter O, the initial of King Olav Håkonsson, centrally positioned within the field. A three-arched crown surmounts the letter from above, rendered in bold relief characteristic of late medieval Norwegian hammered coinage. The letter O encloses a small quatrefoil or rosette ornament at its centre. The entire device is set within a raised circular border, the coin's thin flan exhibiting the characteristic irregular edge of a bracteate penning. No surrounding legend is present; the royal initial alone serves as the identifying device.
