| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays a monogram or royal cipher composed of Gothic letter forms, generally interpreted as a ligature of the letters E and S or a stylized royal initial, arranged centrally within the field. Below the monogram appears a secondary symbol, possibly a second letter grouping or mint mark, rendered in the same crude hammered style. The design fills the central field of the flan with no encircling legend, consistent with the small penning denomination of Magnus VII Eriksson's Norwegian coinage. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Magnus VII was elected King of Norway at age three in 1319, the same year he inherited the Swedish throne — a dynastic accident that briefly united the two crowns under a child regent. Norwegian coinage of his reign was struck under the authority of his guardians, and the penning issues of this period reflect the administrative fragmentation that came with a prolonged minority rule. Output was thin and inconsistent across mints.
Brekke 42.2 is among the scarcer die classifications for this type.
