Obverse description Facing bust of King Harthacnut rendered in a schematic Viking-age style, depicted wearing a pointed helmet with a prominent nose-guard and draped in a mantle with decorative folds at the shoulders. The bust is centrally positioned within an inner circle, flanked by groups of small pellets in the field. A peripheral legend in Latin characters runs clockwise around the coin, separated from the central design by a beaded inner border.

Reverse description Central field features a bold voided cross pattée with four triangular wedge-shaped terminals, accompanied by a small annulet (circle) in the upper right quarter of the inner circle. Additional small ornamental symbols appear in the remaining quarters of the cross. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner border, with the moneyer and mint legend in Latin characters arranged around the periphery, reading the moneyer name CIADPINE and the mint name AROSII (Aarhus), separated by crosses and punctuation marks.
