Obverse description Crowned facing bust of King Håkon V Magnusson rendered in a crude but characteristic medieval Norse style, depicted seated or enthroned with the upper body visible. Two flanking figures or attendants appear on either side of the royal effigy, suggesting a throne scene. The composition is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a further decorative border of pellets and stylized foliage forming the outer rim. The hammered flan exhibits the typical irregular contour and uneven relief of late 13th- to early 14th-century Norwegian coinage. The legend hAQVINVS REX, identifying the issuer as King Håkon, runs in uncial Latin characters around the field.
