| Obverse description | Bracteate type struck on a thin, irregularly shaped silver flan. The central device consists of a heraldic shield, quartered diagonally, bearing a stylised letter N or intertwined diagonal strokes — the arms associated with Archbishop Gaute Ivarsson of Nidaros. The shield is enclosed within a plain inner circle, itself surrounded by a raised rim following the uneven circumference of the flan. The overall execution is characteristic of late medieval Norwegian ecclesiastical bracteate coinage, with bold but somewhat crude relief typical of hand-hammered production. No legend is present. |

| Reverse description | As a bracteate, this coin was struck from a single die, leaving the reverse as an incuse mirror image of the obverse design. The reverse field shows the corresponding hollow impression of the shield and enclosing circle, with the characteristic thin, slightly concave flan surface typical of bracteate fabric. No additional design elements or inscriptions are present on the reverse. |
