Obverse description Helmeted royal effigy facing left, depicted in profile holding a sceptre grasped with both hands. The bust is rendered in the Anglo-Saxon influenced uncial style typical of late 11th-century Norwegian coinage. A legend in Latin uncial characters surrounds the central device, enclosed within a beaded inner ring along the rim.
