A small triangular or lozenge ornament appears at the centre of the cross. The surrounding border consists of a beaded or pellet ring following the irregular flan edge. A fragmentary Latin legend is present in the outer field, consistent with the mint and royal title convention of eleventh-century Norwegian pennings. |
