| Obverse description | Crude crowned royal bust facing, rendered in the primitive Viking-age hammered style characteristic of eleventh-century Norwegian coinage. The effigy displays a diademed or helmeted head with stylized facial features, the neck and upper drapery suggested by bold incuse lines. Pellets and star-like ornaments surround the bust in the field, forming a rudimentary inner border. A partial uncial legend runs around the periphery, partially legible as C-I+n:n, separated by crosses or pellet stops. |
