| Obverse description | The Hungarian royal coat of arms occupies the central field, displaying the traditional quartered shield with the Árpád stripes on the dexter side and the apostolic double cross on the sinister side, surmounted by the Holy Crown of Saint Stephen with its characteristic bent cross. The date 1940 appears in the lower exergue, flanked by stylised floral and foliate ornaments. The circular legend MAGYAR KIRÁLYSÁG (Kingdom of Hungary) runs along the upper periphery, with decorative stops separating the words. |
