Reverse description A long floriated cross extends to the legend, overlying a quadrilobe whose lobes intersect the marginal inscription, dividing the reverse into four quarters. At the center of the cross is a briquet (fire-steel), the personal badge of the Order of the Golden Fleece and emblem of the Burgundian dukes. A countermark in the form of a castle (designated A30) has been applied to the field, indicating subsequent validation or revaluation of the piece. The date 1499 is incorporated within the Latin circumferential legend.
