正面描述 Central field occupied by the tughra-style Arabic calligraphic legend of Sultan Abdulhamid I, rendered in an intricate foliated script within a plain inner circle. The legend reads 'Sultan Abdulhamid' in stylized Arabic characters. The surrounding border consists of a continuous wreath or leaf-and-bead ornamental ring typical of Ottoman provincial hammered coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly concave, characteristic of hand-struck copper issues from the Tripoli mint. The overall design is executed in a provincial style with bold, somewhat crude relief.

附加信息

Abdulhamid I came to the throne in 1774, the same year Russia and the Ottoman Empire signed the Treaty of Küçük Kaynarca — arguably the most damaging territorial concession in Ottoman history to that point. Tripoli, nominally under Istanbul's authority but effectively run by the Karamanli dynasty since 1711, continued striking its own copper coinage with minimal interference from the Porte. The para denomination was the workhorse of small commerce in the regency, changing hands in the souks for basic goods while silver and gold remained largely in merchant and corsair hands.
