| Obverse description | Within a beaded border, a crowned and ornately decorated cartouche bearing the quartered arms of the Cybo and Medici families — the combined Samnite shield of the ruling house — occupies the central field. The date 1567 is divided and placed on either side of the cartouche. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, recording the titles and domains of Duke Alberico I Cybo-Malaspina. |
