| 裏面の説明 | The reverse bears a two-line Arabic inscription occupying the central field, reading 'Zarb Nagar' (struck at Nagar) above the regnal year '1225' in Eastern Arabic numerals, corresponding to the Mauludi era year used by Tipu Sultan. The legend is rendered in a bold, somewhat crude Naskh script consistent with provincial hammered copper coinage. The field is plain and unbordered, and the overall strike is typical of the utilitarian character of Mysorean paisa issues. |

Tipu Sultan issued this paisa just two years before the Fourth Anglo-Mysore War ended with his death defending Seringapatam in May 1799. The Nagar mint — one of several he operated across the kingdom — was among the facilities the British systematically shut down following the siege. Tipu's copper coinage was part of a deliberate monetary reform program that introduced a new calendar, new weight standards, and new mint names, all tied to his broader effort to restructure Mysorean administration along lines he considered independent of Mughal convention.
