| 正面描述 | A stylized leaf motif occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic Sikh artistic tradition with veining details indicated by raised lines. The leaf is depicted in a naturalistic yet abstracted form, a symbolic device associated with Sikh coinage of the period. Pellet ornaments are scattered within the field surrounding the central device. The overall style is typical of hammered copper issues of the Sikh Empire, with an irregular flan and somewhat flat strike. |

The Sikh Empire's copper paisa coinage was issued under the authority of the Khalsa — the collective Sikh commonwealth — rather than in Ranjit Singh's personal name, a deliberate political choice that distinguished his administration from Mughal and Afghan predecessors who had routinely placed their own names on coinage. The Lahore mint, which struck this type, was one of several brought under centralized control as Ranjit Singh consolidated Punjab through the 1820s.
KM#7.16 is one of numerous die varieties catalogued within this series, reflecting the decentralized nature of striking operations and the lack of rigid die standardization across Sikh mints.
