| Obverse description | Central field features a stylized leaf motif rendered in relief, surrounded by a circular arrangement of pellets. Flanking Gurmukhi legends occupy the left and lower registers of the field, reading 'Zarb Sri Amritsar Ji' with the Nanakshahi regnal year 1885. The design is characteristic of the crude hammered coinage of the Amritsar mint under Maharaja Ranjit Singh, with an irregular flan and bold, raised lettering. |
