| Obverse description | Densely struck Arabic legend filling the entire field, arranged in multiple horizontal registers within an irregular flan typical of hammered copper coinage of the Sur Empire. The inscription, executed in a bold Naskh-influenced script, covers the obverse surface from rim to rim with no central device or figural element. The lettering is raised in high relief against a flat field, exhibiting characteristic irregularities in die alignment and strike quality consistent with mid-sixteenth century Indian workshop production. Marginal legends are partially visible at the periphery, though flan irregularity causes some truncation. |
