Obverse description Densely struck Arabic legend filling the entire field, arranged in multiple horizontal registers within an irregular flan typical of hammered copper coinage of the Sur Empire. The inscription, executed in a bold Naskh-influenced script, covers the obverse surface from rim to rim with no central device or figural element. The lettering is raised in high relief against a flat field, exhibiting characteristic irregularities in die alignment and strike quality consistent with mid-sixteenth century Indian workshop production. Marginal legends are partially visible at the periphery, though flan irregularity causes some truncation.
