| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in Naskh script arranged within a rectangular panel bordered by decorative lines, reading 'Zarb Amreli, sanah julus 1256', indicating the mint of Amreli and the regnal year AH 1256 (AD 1840). The date is noted as partially or fully off-flan on many examples, consistent with the irregular flans typical of hammered copper coinage. Pellet ornaments are distributed around the central inscription panel. The overall layout follows the conventional Mughal-derived format adopted by the Baroda princely mint. |
