背面描述 Central field depicting a stylised leaf motif in raised relief, bisected by a horizontal line dividing the design into two registers, with Arabic script legends above and below the dividing bar. The inscription appears to reference the issuing authority and is characteristic of the Mughal-influenced coinage tradition adopted by the Ratlam state. The field exhibits a patchy green patina over a copper-brown surface, with the hammered flan showing irregular edge contours. The calligraphic style is consistent with late 18th-century provincial Indian copper coinage.

附加信息

Ratlam was one of the smaller Rajput states carved from the Malwa region, ruled by a cadet branch of the Rathore clan. By the late eighteenth century the state was caught between Maratha expansion and the encroaching influence of the East India Company, leaving its administration — and its coinage — largely autonomous but increasingly precarious. Local copper issues like this paisa circulated within tightly bounded regional economies, rarely traveling far beyond the bazaars of Ratlam town itself.
