Obverse description Crudely struck Nagari character 'Jo' (the initial syllable of the ruler's name, Jorawar Khan) prominently displayed in the center of the irregular flan. The inscription is rendered in a bold, simplified Nagari script typical of provincial Indian copper coinage of the mid-nineteenth century. The field is plain and unadorned, with no surrounding legend or decorative border, consistent with the rudimentary striking technique employed at the local Radhanpur mint.

Reverse description Plain, entirely blank reverse with no devices, inscriptions, or ornamental elements. The surface exhibits the characteristic irregular outline and uneven texture of a hammered copper flan, with natural surface patination consistent with the period of issue. The absence of any design on the reverse is a deliberate feature of this issue, distinguishing it as one of the simplest coinages produced by the princely state of Radhanpur.

Additional information

Radhanpur was a small Muslim princely state in what is now northern Gujarat, ruled by the Babi dynasty under British paramountcy. Jorawar Khan's reign was unusually long — nearly five decades — and the paisa issues attributed to his rule span that entire period without meaningful design revision, making precise dating within the type essentially impossible by physical examination alone.
