Jhabua was among the smaller Rajput states in the Malwa region, and its copper paise were struck locally with the kind of irregular hand-hammering that makes precise die attribution genuinely difficult. KM#10.1 distinguishes this subtype within the broader Jhabua paisa series — variations in flan preparation and die alignment across the 1866–1879 window mean that no two pieces are quite alike, and collectors working the series quickly learn to treat each example on its own terms.
