1 Paisa - Jankoji Rao Scindia

Jankoji Rao Scindia ruled Gwalior as a Maratha subordinate commander who expanded the confederacy's territorial reach across northern India before dying at the disastrous Battle of Panipat in January 1761 — the third and most consequential engagement on that field, where the Marathas were routed by Ahmad Shah Durrani's Afghan coalition. His death ended the line, and coinage bearing his authority ceased abruptly. KM#97 copper issues from his reign are frequently found heavily worn, consistent with active bazaar circulation across a militarily active and commercially dense region.
