| Reverse description | Plain hammered reverse bearing a two-line Devanagari legend in the central field, reading 'श्री / गणेश', an auspicious invocation of the deity Ganesha, patron of beginnings and prosperity. The inscription is divided by a horizontal line across the flan, creating two distinct registers within the field. The lettering is boldly raised and primitively rendered, characteristic of hand-struck issues from the Jamkhandi Mint during the early 19th century. The plain edge and irregular flan contour are consistent with hammered coinage of the Miraj Senior princely state. |
