Obverse description Central field bears a three-line Devanagari inscription reading 'Shri / Gopal / Rao', referencing the ruling chief Gopal Rao Patwardhan. The legend is boldly struck in raised relief and divided by a horizontal line, characteristic of the crude hammered coinage produced by the Miraj Senior state. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, typical of hand-struck copper issues of the early nineteenth century.
