| Beschrijving voorzijde | Crude hammered field displaying a debased imitation of the Mughal-style Arabic/Nastaliq legend in the centre of the flan. The inscription, intended to read 'Shah Jahan' but with the element 'Jah' omitted, is rendered in a clumsy, irregular hand characteristic of a contemporary counterfeit. Large, roughly formed letterforms dominate the field, with residual dots and curved strokes scattered around the periphery. The planchet is thick and irregular in outline, and the overall execution betrays the work of an unskilled die-cutter imitating a legitimate Loharu copper paisa. |
