Aanvullende informatie

Birendra's coronation on February 24, 1975 — delayed nearly four years after his father Mahendra's death in 1972 while astrologically auspicious dates were calculated — prompted a short series of commemorative circulation strikes. This aluminium paisa was among the lowest-denomination pieces in that series, a coin whose face value was already so marginal by 1974 that it functioned more as a commemorative token than a working monetary unit.
