正面描述 Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan bearing a bold Nagari or Devanagari character in the central field, likely a stylized initial or dynastic symbol associated with the Gaekwad rulers of Baroda. The central device is surrounded by a floral or scrollwork border running along the periphery of the flan. The surfaces exhibit the characteristic uneven relief of hand-struck coinage, with natural die shifts and flan irregularities consistent with early nineteenth-century Indian princely state production. Green patina and earthen deposits cover much of the field, attesting to long burial or circulation.

附加信息

Anand Rao — formally Anandrao Gaikwad — ruled Baroda under effective British suzerainty following the 1802 Treaty of Bassein, which had reduced the Marathas to subsidiary allies. Coins struck under his name during this decade reflect an administration that retained nominal monetary authority while British influence over Baroda's affairs grew steadily more intrusive. He was deposed in 1819, making issues from the later end of this date range particularly brief in production window.
