Obverse description The obverse features two facing Korean phoenix (Bonghwang) devices in high relief, their wings spread wide and flanking a central vertical device depicting trigrams from the Korean flag and the yin-yang symbol. A small stylized phoenix device appears above in the upper field. The legend REPUBLIC OF KOREA arcs along the upper rim, while the lower field bears the legends KOMSCO and 1 oz FINE SILVER 999.
