Obverse description The full coat of arms of the Latvian Republic occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield with a rising sun in the upper half and a lion passant and griffin in the lower quarters, supported by a lion rampant to the left and a griffin to the right, with oak branches and ribbon below. Three five-pointed stars appear above the shield. The curved legend LATVIJAS REPUBLIKA arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination TROJAS 1 UNCE is inscribed along the lower portion of the field. The entire design is surrounded by a beaded border.
