The composition follows the standard osella iconographic formula of the investiture scene between patron saint and ruling doge. |

| Descripción del reverso | A dove in flight, an olive branch in its beak, soaring rightward above a hilly landscape with clouds massed at the upper left; the image alludes to divine favour for Venice and peace after the War of the Holy League. The reverse legend, drawn from Lucan's Pharsalia, proclaims that the victorious cause was pleasing to God, a direct reference to the Peace of Karlowitz (1699) and the Venetian recovery of the Morea. The field is otherwise unadorned, focusing attention on the symbolic avian motif. |
