| Obverse description | St. Mark, enthroned and facing left, presents a staff bearing a cross and pennant to the kneeling Doge Silvestro Valier at right, who receives the emblem of ducal authority in an act of investiture. The scene is rendered in high relief with baroque detailing. The legend arcs across the upper field naming the saint and the doge, while the regnal year notation AN. V appears in the exergue below the figures. |

| Reverse description | A monumental ornate baroque temple, depicted in architectural elevation at left with columns, pediment, and a prominent steeple surmounted by a cross, dominates the field. To the right, the Lion of St. Mark rears rampant, his head turned to sinister, symbolizing the eternal vigilance of the Serenissima over its sacred shrines. The reverse legend EXCVBAT ARIS., meaning 'He keeps watch over the altars,' arcs across the upper field and right border within a beaded border, reinforcing the religious and civic symbolism of the composition. |
