| Obverse description | St. Mark, enthroned and facing left, presents a staff bearing a cross and pennant to the kneeling Doge Silvestro Valier at right, who receives the emblem of ducal authority in an act of investiture. The scene is rendered in high relief with baroque detailing. The legend arcs across the upper field naming the saint and the doge, while the regnal year notation AN. V appears in the exergue below the figures. |
