| Reverse description | Plain field bearing a five-line Latin dedicatory inscription in bold serif capitals, reading PAULI / REINERJ / PRINC. MUNUS / ANNO VIII / 1786, recording this osella as the annual gift of Doge Paolo Renier in the eighth year of his reign. The entire inscription is enclosed within a finely executed wreath of laurel or olive branches tied at the base, with a small ornament at the top center of the wreath. The border is toothed, consistent with the milled production of Venetian oselle of this period. |
