| Obverse description | St. Mark seated at left, robed and nimbed, extends a staff surmounted by a cross and pennant toward the kneeling Doge Francesco Morosini at right, who receives the investiture in a posture of homage. The pairing reflects the traditional Venetian iconography of ducal legitimacy conferred by the patron saint. The encircling legend names the Doge in Latin, while the exergue bears the regnal year ANNO VI in Roman numerals. |
