| Beschrijving voorzijde | St. Mark, seated facing left upon a throne, extends a staff surmounted by a cross and pennant toward the kneeling Doge Alvise Contarini, who receives the investiture at right with hands clasped in deference. The composition follows the traditional Venetian osella iconography of the dogal presentation scene. The mintmaster's initials appear in the exergue below the figures. The surrounding legend identifies the doge by name and title. |
