(Translation: of Visby.)
Reverse description A large Gothic letter 'W', the initial of Wisby (Visby), rendered in an elaborate foliate uncial style and occupying nearly the entire reverse field. The monogram is boldly struck and embellished with fleur-de-lis terminals, consistent with the decorative conventions of late medieval Gotlandic municipal coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the surrounding civic legend partially legible along the rim of the irregularly shaped flan. The execution reflects the hand-engraved craftsmanship typical of fourteenth-century Baltic hammered coinage.
