Obverse description A lion rampant occupies the central field, facing left with raised forepaws, rendered in the vigorous late-Renaissance style typical of Swedish apanage coinage. The numeral or value mark appears either below the lion or at its side depending on the die variety, with one type omitting the value entirely. A beaded inner border frames the design, while a circular Latin legend runs along the periphery identifying the issuing duke.
