| Obverse description | Central field bears a crowned ornate heraldic shield displaying the Greater Arms of Sweden: the first and fourth quarters contain the Three Crowns of Sweden, the second and third quarters bear the Folkung Lion, and an inescutcheon at center displays the Vasa sheaf. The shield is partially enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with the royal Latin legend arranged in the outer margin. The overall design reflects the elaborate heraldic engraving style characteristic of early seventeenth-century Swedish copper coinage. |
