Obverse description Central device consists of a large ornate sheaf of grain (vase-like bundle tied at the base), rendered in fine relief with fanned fronds and scroll-like leaves extending to either side. The royal cypher letters G and R flank the sheaf to left and right respectively, with the letter A positioned above. The date 1·6·1·3 is inscribed in the lower field beneath the sheaf. The coin is struck within a plain inner border with a beaded outer rim, characteristic of early seventeenth-century Swedish hammered coinage.
