Additional information

Sweden's 1 öre denomination was functionally obsolete for most of Gustaf VI Adolf's reign — purchasing power had eroded to the point where the coin could buy nothing independently by the mid-1950s. It persisted in circulation largely because Swedish pricing conventions and tax calculations still required rounding to the single öre. The denomination was finally abolished in 1972, one year after this type ceased production.
