Reckheim was a tiny imperial lordship wedged between the Prince-Bishopric of Liège and the Spanish Netherlands, and its right to strike coin was a perpetual irritant to both neighbors. Ernest of Lynden — lord from 1583 to 1636 — exploited that imperial immediacy aggressively, issuing copper small change across a span of decades that far outran local commercial need. The De Mey numbers 127–130 reflect meaningful die variation across the series rather than mere catalogue tidiness.
