Obverse description At centre, the current Mexican national coat of arms — an eagle perched on a cactus devouring a serpent — is surrounded by a circular arrangement of all historical Mexican coats of arms in chronological order, beginning with the pre-Columbian indigenous device at top centre and proceeding clockwise through successive iterations of the national arms. The encircling national legend appears along the upper periphery of the coin in raised Latin lettering. The design presents a rich heraldic panorama commemorating Mexico's sovereign iconographic heritage.

Reverse description The allegorical figure of Winged Victory (the Angel of Independence), shown in full relief, stands triumphant upon a crowned stepped pedestal at centre. Behind her rises the imposing profile of the volcanic peaks Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl, with the skyline of Mexico City visible in the middle ground. Inscribed in the upper field, reading left to right, are the weight designation, the metal type, the year of issue, the mint mark, and the fineness. The composition reflects the monumental neoclassical style of the original statue on the Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City.
