| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Mexican national coat of arms at centre, depicting a Mexican golden eagle perched upon a prickly pear cactus growing from a rocky outcrop, devouring a serpent in its beak and talons. Flanking the cactus are oak and laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon. The entire design is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circular legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arcs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals, with a decorative dentilated border encircling the entire obverse. |
