Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Charles (Carlo VII of Sicily, later Charles III of Spain) facing right, rendered in bold high relief with long curling hair falling over the shoulder. The effigy is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend runs along the periphery, separated from the bust by the inner border. The portrait displays the characteristic Baroque style of Sicilian royal coinage of the mid-eighteenth century.
