Obverse description Central field features a crowned Gothic shield bearing three open crowns, the heraldic arms of Sweden (Tre Kronor), enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The shield is surmounted by a small crown above the upper rim of the inner circle. A circular legend in Gothic uncial characters runs around the periphery of the flan, separated from the central device by the beaded border. The overall style is characteristic of late medieval Scandinavian hammered coinage, with an irregularly shaped flan typical of the period.
