Obverse description The national coat of arms of Peru, featuring a shield divided into three quarters displaying a vicuña, a cinchona tree, and a cornucopia, surmounted by a laurel wreath and flanked by palm and laurel branches. The circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ is inscribed along the upper periphery, with the date 2010 appearing in the lower field. The design is rendered in high relief against a polished field.

Reverse description A detailed depiction of the Estela de Raimondi, a monumental carved stone stele of the Chavín culture, rendered in low relief occupying the central field. The stele's iconography depicts the Staff God figure with an elaborate, vertically stacked headdress of stacked fanged appendages. To the left, the denomination 1 NUEVO SOL is inscribed vertically, while the legend ESTELA DE RAIMONDI and the date range S. VIII – V a.C. appear in the lower left field. The Lima Mint monogram is visible to the right.
