Reverse description A detailed relief depiction of the famous Toltec-Mayan stone sculpture known as Chac Mool, rendered in three-quarter view, showing the reclining human figure with knees raised and head turned to the left, resting on a rectangular plinth, all set within a hexagonal shield with chamfered corners against a mirror-polished field. The date 1994 is inscribed to the left of the figure in the field, while the Mexico City Mint mark 'Mo' appears to the right. The legend CHAAC-MOOL is inscribed below the sculpture within the hexagonal frame. Stylised pre-Columbian glyphs fill the ornamental border surrounding the hexagonal shield, and the denomination N$1 appears prominently in the lower field below the frame.
